VIII International Festival of Young Talents "The Earth under White Wings"

 The development of children's creativity is one of good traditions of the cultural policy of the Gomel Region. The International Festival "The Earth under White Wings" is a tradition, too. Created at the initiative of children in 1998, on the anniversary of the Chernobyl Disaster, it got to be a significant event in the cultural palette of the Belarusian Polesye.

The festival is held every other year in April-May on memorial days of the Chernobyl Disaster– and through its optimistic idea it says: "Life goes on!" Therefore, the emblem of the festival is a white stork, a symbol of a happy childhood. Among participants of the festival are a lot of young talents who are well-known today not only in the Gomel Region, but also outside Belarus. They are Olga Satsyuk and Egor Farashchan, Egor Volchek and Ksenia Sitnik, Andrey Kunets and Mikhail Lila, scholarship holders of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth. Therefore, the festival promotes the development of the Belarusian national culture, esthetic education of children, introduction to traditions of amateur and folk arts, cooperation with ethnic cultures of other countries, expansion of international creative relations, identification and support of creatively gifted performers.
